Lagoa
da Conceição is a village-like suburb that
offers the visitor a distinguished atmosphere. There are
many excellent restaurants that serve a wide range of
foods: from seafood to Italian to typical Brazilian cuisine.
This lake is located right in the middle of the
island. Lagoa also features boat tours, windsurfing, sailing,
water skiing, trekking, and other outdoor activities.
The lake is surrounded by “Mata Atlântica”
and exquisite dunes. If you like to take photographs,
there are a few remarkable lookouts all around the lake.
Along
Avenida das Rendeiras you will find friendly old ladies
that keep the tradition of “Renda de Bilro”
alive. The local architecture is also exuberant, remnant
of the houses that the first settlers built on the island. Lagoa is also famous for its bustling nightlife.
There are many bars that host bands from the whole south
of Brazil. These bands perform from Thursday
to Sunday and all kinds of music can be heard: popular
Brazilian music, rock, reggae, forró, and others.
